Description

The Department of the Air Force requires one self-contained, deployable 20-foot High-Cube ISO-compliant Mobile Embalming Unit to support Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations’ global mass casualty mission. The contractor must provide a new certified shipping-container shell, structural modifications, integrated plumbing and fluid storage, dual-frequency electrical systems, a tri-fuel generator, single-pass HVAC with local exhaust ventilation, medical-grade interior finishes, a custom embalming sink station, and an overhead body-lift system. The unit must operate from 0°F to 120°F, support military and flatbed transport, and integrate Government-Furnished commercial embalming machines. The requirement includes FOB Destination delivery, on-site setup and utility connection, and at least one full day of operational and preventive-maintenance training for up to six personnel. The technical submission must include a technical approach, preliminary engineering drawings and floor plans, a complete bill of materials with commercial product specification sheets, a training plan, and a quality-control and warranty plan addressing factory testing and site acceptance testing. Award will use a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable process, with technical acceptability evaluated on a pass/fail basis.
