Description
Bergen Community College is soliciting bids for on-call network cabling services at its Paramus, Lyndhurst, and Hackensack campuses. The contractor will perform as-needed moves, removals, additions, changes, repairs, and expansions to the College's existing Category 6 cable plant for voice and data transmission. Work includes supplying and installing Category 6 plenum-rated unshielded twisted-pair cable, RJ45 jacks, faceplates, blank panels, surface-mounted raceway where necessary, terminations using the 568B standard, labeling, documentation, required permits, and compliance with applicable building codes and EIA/TIA standards. The contractor must provide electronic telecommunications documentation on a USB flash drive or CD-ROM, respond to requests within two working days, and complete work orders within five working days after the response date. New installations must be tested and certified with a qualified Category 6 certification tool, with test results provided when payment is requested. Clarification confirms that certification is required for all runs, the College will handle device patching at endpoints and IDF closets, and the College will provide patch panels and capacity as necessary. The project is subject to prevailing-wage requirements, with approximately 115 runs ordered during the prior year; two drops are the minimum per work order. Pricing is based on a per-drop rate, with associated costs for indoor protective routing and difficult access conditions included in the per-drop price. The contract period is December 15, 2026, through December 14, 2028.
