Description
Middlesex County is seeking a consultant to provide ongoing services to maintain the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP) accreditation for the Sheriff's Office. The consultant will work with the Sheriff's Office Accreditation Managers to ensure compliance with NJSLEAP/NJSCOP standards. The scope of work includes providing direct mentorship and oversight for the accreditation process, maintaining and updating the Sheriff's Office directives system (Policy & Procedures, Rules & Regulations) to comply with all applicable laws and accreditation standards, and assisting with the assembly and filing of compliance proofs for the re-accreditation assessment. The consultant must have at least three years of experience in accreditation standards review, a strong understanding of law enforcement policies and procedures, and experience with NJSACOP Accreditation Compliance Express (CACE) Software and PowerDMS. They will also be responsible for preparing documentation for new policies and procedures and providing necessary training recommendations. The consultant must not use subcontractors for inspections during the final process or re-certification reviews. The consultant will also be required to complete and submit NJSACOP re-accreditation applications and attend any requested meetings. The contract will commence on or about August 19, 2026, for a period of twelve months, with an option for two additional one-year terms. Monthly project status meetings will be held in person on the second Tuesday of each month. A summary Evaluation and Closeout Report will be required at the end of the contract. Final payment is contingent upon the Middlesex County Sheriff's Office receiving re-accreditation for the cycle culminating in 2028.
