Description
The California Department of Water Resources is soliciting boat portage services for the Temporary Barriers Project. The contractor will trailer V-hull boats up to 25 feet long and 7,000 pounds from one side of temporary rock barriers to the other at Old River near Tracy and Grant Line Canal in San Joaquin County. Services are provided free of charge to boaters during seasonal operating periods, generally from May 15 through November 21. The contractor must provide two 3/4-ton vehicles with Class 5 hitches, two universal boat trailers, and two operators, one at each site. Responsibilities include launching and receiving boats, maintaining electronic boat logs, documenting incidents, notifying the Department of Water Resources of accidents and site issues, attending annual kickoff meetings and field orientation, and submitting end-of-season service reports. Bidders must provide proof of a current California business license, valid Class C California driver's licenses and California Boater Cards for all personnel, relevant commercial boat-trailering experience, and the required equipment. The anticipated agreement term is three years with an option for two additional years.
