Description
The City of Temple City is seeking professional civil engineering and traffic signal design services for Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) Cycle 12 improvements at 27 signalized intersections. The work includes field investigations, utility and right-of-way coordination, crash-data and safety-performance analysis, signal design, and preparation of complete Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) packages. Improvements include installing retro-reflective backplates, replacing outdated signal heads, and implementing Leading Pedestrian Interval timing plans. The consultant must provide project management, Caltrans and agency coordination, environmental and technical support as needed, bid and construction support, and final as-built drawings. Required deliverables include staged 35%, 65%, 90%, and 100% PS&E submissions, a field investigation and signal condition report, QA/QC documentation, electronic design files, and related federal and state documentation. The firm must demonstrate at least five years of relevant experience, three recent federal-aid projects, California-licensed engineering oversight, a California office, three similar-work references, and majority self-performance. The programmed preliminary-engineering funding is $126,400, while the total project cost identified in the agreement exhibit is $1,568,300.
