Description
The City of Laredo is soliciting bids for construction of approximately 3,372 linear feet of 10-foot-wide concrete trail at Santa Fe Park. The scope includes excavation, clearing and grubbing, cut/fill and regrading, 6-inch subgrade preparation and compaction, a 4-inch reinforced concrete trail, Grade 40 conduits, traffic control, chain-link fence removal and placement, pedestrian railing, concrete-channel replacement, and a trench drain system. Additional stormwater pollution-prevention work includes silt fencing, a stabilized construction entrance, a concrete wash pit, a trash and debris container, and inlet protection. An additive alternate covers broadcast seeding and regrading. Addendum 2 revised the bid quantities and clarified that No. 4 reinforcing bar is recommended, wire mesh is an option for the concrete trail, and 3,000-psi concrete applies to the typical trail while 3,600-psi concrete applies only to raised sidewalk openings. The contract has a construction time of 120 working days and will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, subject to funding availability. The bid package must include the required check or original bond, the bid response, required City forms, and acknowledgments of Addenda Nos. 1 and 2. The successful bidder must provide required insurance and performance and payment bonds after award.
