Description
The National Institutes of Health seeks access to patient blood samples and associated clinical and laboratory data from patients hospitalized at Inova Fairfax Hospital in support of the NHLBI Critical Care Research Program. Required activities include identifying and consenting eligible patients, enrolling them in research protocols, collecting medical histories and samples, coordinating sample pickup and delivery to NIH, and maintaining correspondence regarding clinical data. The contractor must also provide general support for NHLBI clinical protocols, expert and clinical guidance, patient recruitment, credentialing and facility space for NHLBI personnel, and a qualified team consisting of a Principal Investigator/Project Director, Clinical/Research Investigators, and Clinical Research Coordinators. Responsibilities include clinical research participation, patient management, 24/7 on-call coverage, study coordination, IRB support, specimen care, and related research activities. This is a noncompetitive Notice of Intent identifying Inova Health Care Services as the intended awardee and is a renewal of an existing requirement.
