Description
The City of Columbus, Indiana, is soliciting bids for modernization of the Rocky Ford Road and Central Avenue traffic signal system. The base bid includes construction engineering; removal and replacement of concrete curb and gutter; concrete curb ramps; approach pavement; detectable warning surfaces; signal control and service cabling; a Type P1 controller and cabinet; controller foundations; salvageable equipment transportation; vehicle detection and emergency vehicle confirmation equipment; steel strain and pedestal signal poles; foundations and handholes; pedestrian signal heads and accessible push buttons; galvanized steel conduit; traffic signal heads; span, catenary, and tether systems; overhead sheet signs; and thermoplastic crosswalk markings. An alternate covers replacement of signal heads at Middle and Rocky Ford. Bidders must submit itemized pricing through the electronic procurement system, along with the required Contractor’s Bid for Public Work—Form 96, including the Non-Collusion Affidavit; a notarized Comprehensive Compliance Form; and bid security equal to 10 percent of the bid amount. The successful bidder must provide 100 percent performance and payment bonds, insurance, and complete the work by June 30, 2027.
