Description
NASA requires a Discovery DMA850 dynamic mechanical analyzer with a standard furnace, filter/regulator, penetration probe and stage, gas-cooling accessory upgrade kit, computer, monitor, loyalty support plan, and shipping. The system must support dynamic and creep testing, a 0.001–200 Hz dynamic frequency range, loads up to 18 N with resolution no greater than 0.001 N, displacement up to 25 mm with resolution no greater than 0.1 nm, and environmental temperature control. The requirement also includes installation and operator training. The notice is a special notice seeking capability statements rather than quotes and states that NASA intends to pursue a sole-source contract with Waters Technologies Corporation unless responses demonstrate a basis for competition. Delivery lead time may not exceed 60 days from purchase.
