Description
The Denton County Transportation Authority is issuing a Request for Proposals to furnish remanufactured or new engines, transmissions, and associated repower component kits for four 2016 Gillig low-floor transit buses. The base bid requires four complete engine and transmission repower parts kits, with the Authority performing installation using its certified maintenance personnel. An additive alternate allows the vendor to provide turnkey installation labor for one or more buses. Kits must include all necessary engine, transmission, cooling-system, aftertreatment, electrical, and fluid components and meet OEM specifications. The vendor must be an authorized Cummins and Allison distributor or dealer, maintain a service facility or authorized dealer location within 75 road miles of the Authority's Bus Operations and Maintenance Facility, and provide references for similar work. Award will be based on best value, including price, technical approach, experience, and delivery schedule.
