Description
The City of San Diego is soliciting a lump-sum public-works construction contract for a new traffic-signal interconnect system at five intersections. The work includes approximately 6,650 linear feet of single-mode fiber-optic cable and conduit, pull boxes, fiber ports, traffic-signal cabinets and foundations, traffic-signal controllers, Ethernet switches, controller software, cabinet modifications, and restoration and protection of existing infrastructure. The estimated bid value is $1,200,000, with a 360-working-day completion period. The prime contractor must hold an A or C-10 California contractor license, attend the mandatory remote pre-bid meeting, submit a 10% bid bond, and meet the required 0.8% SLBE and 2.4% ELBE subcontracting participation requirements or provide good-faith-effort documentation. Prevailing wages, a project labor agreement, at least 50% self-performance of the base bid, and 100% payment and performance bonds apply.
