Description
The City of Starkville is soliciting sealed bids for the Curry Street Elevated Water Tank Rehabilitation Project (Project No. 250035). The work consists of abrasive blasting and recoating the interior and exterior of a 500,000-gallon elevated water storage tank. The maximum completion period is ninety (90) calendar days following the City's written Notice to Proceed. A 5% proposal guaranty is required in the form of a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check. The successful bidder must furnish a 100% payment and performance bond if the bid equals or exceeds $25,000; for bids below $25,000, the City may elect a lump-sum payment at completion instead. Bids of $50,000 or more must include the Mississippi State Board of Contractors Certificate of Responsibility number, while lower bids must state that the bid does not exceed $50,000. Electronic bidders must include the applicable information as an attachment. Resident contractors receive preference under Mississippi law, and nonresident bidders must attach a copy of their resident state's current law concerning treatment of nonresident contractors. The contractor must comply with specified Mississippi and United States material-preference requirements.
