Description
The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources is seeking one Outreach Specialist contract worker for the Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve. Duties include supporting the On the Road program; coordinating community education activities and teacher professional-development workshops; assisting with trail and kayak tours; developing education activities related to fisheries and estuary nursery functions; promoting research priorities and habitat restoration; supporting reserve communications and social media; and assisting with outreach events and workshop development. Applicants must possess or be pursuing a bachelor's degree in a specified natural-resource, environmental, marine, biological, geographic, forestry, or related field from an accredited four-year college or university. The position pays $22.00 per hour for a maximum of 28 hours per week.
