Description
The Maine Department of Transportation is soliciting backhoe/loaders without operators for seasonal or continuous use in Region 5, not for on-call rental. The equipment must generally be 16,000–20,000 pounds, have 90–105 horsepower, four-wheel drive, specified digging depth and bucket capabilities, pilot controls, lighting, mirrors, air conditioning, safety features, and other listed equipment requirements. Units may not be more than three years old or have more than 1,600 hours at initial delivery. The contractor must provide scheduled preventive maintenance, on-site service and repairs, replacement equipment when required, and delivery and pickup. The Department will provide fuel, oil, grease, coolant, registration, and insurance. Rental is measured by calendar month, with transportation paid per delivery and pickup. Bidders must submit completed technical specification checklists, detailed equipment descriptions, a vendor specification proposal, and the required bid package.
