Description
The City of Hollywood is soliciting bids for rehabilitation of three existing forced-draft fiberglass degasifiers, units 2, 3, and 4, at its water treatment plant. The work includes removing and disposing of existing media; power washing and disinfecting vessel interiors; inspecting and repairing the units and media supports; replacing media support grids, polypropylene packing media, and differential-pressure gauge systems; and resealing access doors and manways. The contractor must maintain plant operations by taking only one degasifier offline at a time and must return each unit to satisfactory operation. The scope also requires coordination of shutdowns, field testing, a 24-hour operating test, manufacturer-trained service support with at least three site visits, and recommendations for additional repairs. The solicitation requires a Florida general contractor license, relevant experience, a bonding-capacity letter with the bid, a 5% bid guaranty, and performance and payment bonds each equal to 100% of the contract price after award. The bid includes mobilization, demobilization, an $86,000 city contingency allowance, degasifier cleaning, and furnishing and installing replacement equipment.
