Description
Wicomico County is soliciting bids for interior renovation of the Salisbury Airport air traffic control tower following installation of new air traffic control equipment and cabinets. Work includes plumbing, electrical, flooring, ceiling systems and tiles, lighting, painting, insulation, bathroom fixture replacement, a tankless water heater and slop sink, HVAC-related work, telecommunications coordination, and related demolition, protection, cleanup, permits, labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision. The work will occur within a secure, operational airport control tower. The contractor must protect existing and newly installed equipment, maintain air traffic control operations and clear egress routes, coordinate work windows and shutdowns with airport personnel, and submit approved phasing and safety plans before work begins. At least one supervisor or lead worker must obtain an airport identification card through background screening and airport security and driver training; other workers may work only when that identified individual is present unless they obtain their own credentials. The estimated project period is July 1, 2027, through December 2, 2027. Performance and payment bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract price, are required when the contract exceeds $100,000.
