Description
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, through the National Marine Fisheries Service and Alaska Fisheries Science Center, is conducting market research for comprehensive winter maintenance services at the Ted Stevens Marine Research Institute and UAF Lena Point Fisheries Facility. The scope includes plowing approximately 200,000 square feet of parking areas and 1,500 linear feet of roadway; clearing approximately 7,000 square feet of sidewalks, stairs, entrances, emergency exits, and ADA ramps; sanding and traction control; and applying concrete-safe chemical deicers. The contractor must provide all snow-removal equipment and maintain access during heavy snowfall, with automatic dispatch at two inches of accumulation or during icing events and primary areas cleared by 7:00 a.m. daily. Supplementary, as-needed services include off-site snow hauling after storage areas reach capacity and roof snow or hazardous icicle removal. The draft scope also requires a pre-season site walk, service logs, property-damage responsibility, and specified commercial general liability, automobile liability, and workers’ compensation insurance. Respondents are asked to submit a written capability statement, documentation comments, and optionally pricing estimates; this notice is for market research and will not result in an award.
