Description
Ricardo Independent School District is soliciting proposals for Category 1 Internet access and/or data transmission services at a required capacity of 5 Gbps. Proposers may offer Internet access only, data transmission/transport only, or a bundled solution, using fiber, hybrid, cable, fixed wireless, microwave, satellite, or another reliable transmission medium. Service must be delivered to the district's primary demarcation point using a standard fiber LC handoff. The service is scheduled to begin July 1, 2027, with an initial term of either 36 or 60 months and two or more optional 12-month extensions. Proposed services must provide 99.99% availability on a 24/7/365 basis and a maximum four-hour mean time to repair for emergency outages. The scope includes any required installation, construction, hardware, wiring, testing, documentation, and coordination. Vendors must have a valid Service Provider Identification Number and good FCC standing, support SPI and BEAR invoicing, and provide required insurance evidence. Subcontractors are permitted, but the prime vendor remains responsible for performance. On-site personnel with potential student contact must satisfy Texas fingerprinting, background-check, registry, identification, and safety requirements.
