Description
Sandy City is soliciting a contractor for civil, structural, electrical, and landscape improvements supporting backup power at the Pepperwood Booster Station and Wildflower Well. The work includes installing a new stationary packaged 500 kW generator at the Pepperwood site; constructing a generator pad and retaining wall up to approximately 10 feet tall; excavation, backfill, concrete flatwork, fencing, landscaping, irrigation, and related site restoration; and electrical upgrades at the Wildflower Well to enable connection to a mobile generator. The City has pre-purchased the generators, while the contractor is responsible for installation, connections, testing, startup, and commissioning. The solicitation requires a mandatory pre-bid meeting, a bid bond equal to 5 percent of the bid, and performance and payment bonds each equal to 100 percent of the contract price. Bidders must submit qualifications, financial information and references, proposed subcontractor and supplier information, and experience demonstrating concrete retaining-wall and stationary packaged-generator installation capabilities. The contractor must perform at least 60 percent of the work itself. The anticipated construction period runs from October 1, 2026, through July 2, 2027, with substantial completion required by June 18, 2027, and an intermediate milestone for the retaining wall, generator pad, and automatic transfer switch installation by April 15, 2027.
