Description

The project covers 27 properties acquired for the SR 132 West Interchange: 24 properties with structures to demolish and three requiring debris removal only. Work includes removing buildings, foundations, septic systems, wells, pools, fencing, driveways, and other appurtenances; hazardous-material abatement for asbestos and lead; debris removal and lawful disposal; utility disconnections and removals; backfilling, compaction, and rough grading; and temporary traffic control and water-pollution-control measures. Hazardous-material survey reports are included in the solicitation package. The contractor must obtain required permits and complete property-specific work within 45 working days after the notice to proceed for each property. The project requires applicable California contractor licenses, hazardous-material qualifications, prevailing wages, and a minimum 30% self-performance of the contract work, excluding designated specialty items. The stated estimated construction cost is less than $2.3 million. The bid requires a bid security of at least 10% of the total bid; the successful bidder must provide 100% performance and payment bonds after award.
