Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking one walk-in freezer and installation for a hospital kitchen. The contractor must provide labor, materials, equipment, supervision, design, delivery, assembly of modular insulated panels, refrigeration equipment, condensate drainage, electrical and utility connections, vapor-proof lighting, an integral ramp, testing, commissioning, cleanup, and related documentation and staff training. The freezer must fit within an installation space measuring 16 feet wide by 10 feet deep by 8 feet 6 inches high. Requirements include insulated modular panels, specified wall, ceiling, and floor construction, a floor capacity of 1,000 pounds per square foot for cart loads and 3,735 pounds per square foot for uniform loads, an energy-efficient refrigeration system, connection to an existing floor drain approximately five feet away, and a backup power solution. Installation will occur in an operational hospital kitchen, with completion required within six weeks of project commencement, followed by final inspection and handover. A minimum one-year warranty on labor and materials is required.
