Description
The City seeks a qualified contractor to recondition a 2-million-gallon elevated potable water reservoir. Work includes cleaning, abrasive blasting, and recoating interior and exterior surfaces; full containment for exterior blasting; welding, grinding, and other structural modifications; and replacement or installation of specified components such as doors, manways, lighting, safety-climb equipment, screens, and gaskets. The work also includes coating the tank lettering and logo, reservoir disinfection, waste testing and disposal, and site cleanup and restoration. Bidders must provide substantial relevant experience, including at least five comparable elevated potable-water tank coating-replacement projects meeting the stated capacity threshold, a two-year performance record, personnel and supplier information, and proposed subcontractor information. The bid requires a 5% bid security, and the successful bidder must perform at least 80% of the base-bid work with its own registered employees. A mandatory pre-bid conference call is required to be eligible to bid.
