Description
Springfield City School District has developed a Local Use of Funds Plan detailing how American Rescue Plan (ARP) ESSER funds will be used. The plan includes implementing prevention and mitigation strategies consistent with CDC guidance, such as providing masks, cleaning supplies, and maintaining physical distancing. To address the academic impact of lost instructional time, the district will continue expanded summer enrichment programs and provide high-quality professional development. Funds will also support healthy meals, school supplies, and programs for children with disabilities, English learners, homeless students, and foster care youth. The district plans to hire six reading specialists, five attendance officers, thirteen intervention specialists, five additional teachers, and six nurses. Additionally, ARP funds will be used to renovate The Dome to create enhanced learning space, space for career exploration, and community partner services.
