Description
The Town of Milton is soliciting proposals for independent financial audit services for the fiscal years ending June 30, 2027, June 30, 2028, and June 30, 2029. The services required include an annual financial audit of the Town's finances and federal awards programs, an annual audit of the Milton Contributory Retirement System, performance of procedures related to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's Compliance Supplement, and completion of a written management letter. The selected firm will also provide advice and guidance on financial accounting and reporting issues throughout the contract period. The Town maintains its general financial records in accordance with the Revised Uniform Massachusetts Accounting System on a modified accrual basis, using SoftRight for its financial record-keeping system. The audit is to be performed in accordance with Government Auditing Standards and OMB Circular A-133. Deliverables include printed and electronic copies of audit reports, management letters, and reports on federal awards programs. The Town anticipates awarding a contract for a three-year period.
