Description
J.F. Drake State Community and Technical College is soliciting bids for armed security services at its main campus. The contractor must provide one armed guard 24 hours per day, seven days per week, plus an additional roaming armed guard Monday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. while classes are in session. Services include hourly building security and safety checks, parking-lot surveillance, escorts, facility access control, emergency-alert-system operation, surveillance-camera review, incident and crime-log reporting, and liaison support with the Huntsville Police Department. The contractor must furnish weapons, uniforms, cellular telephones, weather-appropriate clothing, and replacement personnel; conduct screening, drug testing, background checks, and required training; ensure APOST firearm qualification and annual less-lethal-force training; and provide three references from clients receiving 24-hour, seven-day armed security services. The contract has a one-year term with an option for month-to-month continuation.
