Description
Macon-Bibb County is soliciting sealed bids for the Walnut Street Improvement Project Phase 2. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision, permits, licenses, inspections, traffic-control devices, site protection, material disposal, cleanup, and other services necessary to complete the roadway improvements in accordance with the specifications, plans, construction standards, and landscape scope. The contractor must commence work within 10 calendar days after issuance of the notice to proceed and complete the project within 135 calendar days after the notice to proceed. A mandatory pre-bid conference is required. The bid must include the completed bid package and a bid bond or qualifying cashier’s or certified check equal to at least 5% of the total base bid. The successful bidder must provide payment and performance bonds, each equal to 100% of the contract price, and comply with extensive insurance requirements, including workers’ compensation, employers’ liability, builders risk or an installation floater where applicable, commercial general liability, automobile liability, and umbrella liability coverage.
