Description
Lewis County is soliciting proposals for the purchase and harvesting of timber from approximately 58.7 acres on the east side of Lowdale Road. The contractor must harvest only designated trees and comply with requirements for protecting residual trees, managing skid trails and landings, preventing erosion and rutting, controlling fluid spills, and restoring the site and parking area after the work. The contractor is responsible for necessary equipment, permits, insurance, and related costs. Eligible bidders must have at least three years of forestry-industry experience and provide at least three references for jobs completed within the past 24 months, including contact information. Proposals must include the specified bid and certification forms. The selected contractor must provide performance security of $5,000 or 20% of the bid price, whichever is less, when the contract is signed. Work must be completed by December 1, 2028.
