Description
Vortex is soliciting subcontractor bids and quotes for rehabilitation of a three-story building into 30 permanent supportive housing units. The scope includes MEP upgrades, fire-damage restoration, abatement, demolition, framing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, insulation, windows and doors, drywall, flooring, painting, cabinetry, kitchenettes, concrete, seismic retrofit, fire/life-safety work, ADA improvements, roofing, paving, landscaping, security systems, site security, and related site work. The public works project is subject to California prevailing-wage requirements. Subcontractors must be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations, submit certified payroll, and hold an active, appropriate CSLB license in good standing. Commercial general liability, automobile liability, and workers’ compensation insurance are required at $1 million per occurrence, with Community Action Partnership of Kern and the City of Bakersfield named as additional insureds. A 100% payment bond and 100% performance bond are required before the notice to proceed. SBE, MBE, WBE, and DVBE participation is encouraged.
