Description
The Alabama Air National Guard, 117th Air Refueling Wing in Birmingham, is conducting market research to identify sources capable of performing concrete crack repair and expansion joint replacement at the Alert Pad apron pavement. The scope of work includes repairing approximately 300 linear feet of concrete cracking and replacing 5,000 linear feet of existing apron expansion joint. Specific tasks involve identifying and marking cracks, cleaning them using precise cutting and blowing out debris, and filling them with FAA-approved, fuel-resistant sealant. For expansion joints, the work includes removing old filler and deteriorated concrete, preparing surfaces, installing new joint filler material, and applying a fuel-resistant, FAA-approved sealant, ensuring proper joint dimensions and a flush finish.
