Description
The project involves constructing a shared-use pathway and ADA improvements along Adams Street from 6th Street to the Riverfront, with related pedestrian improvements on nearby streets. Work includes sidewalk and curb construction, curb ramps and pedestrian connections, patterned concrete sidewalk, retaining walls, drainage improvements, pavement and curb work, landscaping, lighting, traffic-signal upgrades, signs, pavement markings, and traffic control. Decorative security fencing and a gate, removable bollards, and coordination with Amtrak are also included. The contractor must complete the work within 229 calendar days; the solicitation estimates that work will start on or about March 1, 2027. A 10% bid security deposit is required, and the bidder must submit a signed drug-testing affidavit and a completed bidders list with the bid. The solicitation states that bidders must be registered with DelDOT to submit a bid and requires the prime contractor to perform at least 30% of the work, excluding designated specialty items.
