The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Detachment 7 is conducting market research to identify qualified industry partners for follow-on support of its advanced rocket propulsion testing mission. This effort, temporarily designated ASTROS II, requires specialized technical knowledge in evaluating, engineering, reconfiguring, and modifying experimental research test equipment, test stands, and associated systems. The contractor will also perform research and development test operations, provide test operation support, and maintain special test equipment and critical support infrastructure. The scope of operations ranges from small bench-scale components to launch booster-class engines, requiring expertise in various propulsion systems, including toxic, storable, hypergolic, cryogenic, and hydrocarbon propellants. The contractor will be responsible for the safe handling, transport, and storage of these materials. Incidental alterations to real property are authorized only when necessary for the modification of test stands and require formal approval.
