Description
The Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority is seeking a qualified contractor to rehabilitate the Claiborne Pell Bridge. The work includes partial- and full-depth deck rehabilitation; replacement of finger, expansion, and deck control joints; exterior and partial interior painting of two towers; replacement of seven compression links; rehabilitation of two service elevators; construction of two stair access towers; replacement of suspender ropes; construction of access and investigation platforms for twelve main-cable panels; and traffic control, including a full-length temporary movable barrier and barrier mover. Bidders must submit the required proposal forms, Statement of Qualifications forms, and a certified check or bid bond equal to at least 5% of the total bid price. The successful bidder must provide a 100% performance bond and specified insurance before beginning work. The contract requires completion by June 30, 2030, with work beginning within 14 weekdays after receipt of the Notice to Proceed, subject to approval of bonds and insurance.
