Description
The City of Cottonwood is soliciting applications for its Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) Small Grant Funding Program for fiscal year 2027. The program provides financial assistance to owners of qualifying historic properties located within the Old Town Special Planning Area (OTSPA), listed on the National Register of Historic Places, or designated as local Historic Landmarks. Grant funds may be used for rehabilitation, preservation, or restoration of exterior portions of historic buildings, structures, or sites, including roofs, windows, doors, walls, porches, foundations, awnings, signs, architectural ornamentation, fences, masonry repointing, painting, and reversal of inappropriate alterations. The maximum grant award is $3,500 per project, and recipients must provide a cash match of at least 50% of the approved project cost. The program is a reimbursement program, with funds disbursed after work is completed and inspected. Applications must be submitted by November 30, 2026, at 10:00 AM Arizona time, either electronically via the City's eProcurement Portal or physically to the Purchasing Division. The application must include a cover sheet, a narrative proposal describing the property's historic significance, scope of work, and cost estimates, and any required forms. Applications will be evaluated based on a scoring criterion, with a maximum of 80 points.
