Description
Summit County Public Art Advisory Board is seeking artists or artist teams to propose designs for up to eight commemorative outdoor benches at the Silver Summit Services Building: two benches up to 8 feet long and six benches up to 5 feet long. The artwork must provide functional seating, be free-standing, durable, safe, maintainable, and suitable for deep snowfall, high winds, and variable temperatures. Designs should commemorate unity, community, justice, service, and law and order, while providing a visual barrier between the road and courtyard without affecting the building facade. The scope includes original design, engineering calculations, fabrication, anchoring to county-provided concrete pads, installation, and a maintenance plan. The maximum project budget is $52,000, inclusive of artist fees, usage fees, insurance, labor, equipment, permits, installation, and travel. Respondents may apply for one or all eight benches and must state the number proposed, budget, concept, dimensions, materials, installation timeline, and placement flexibility. A single PDF proposal of no more than 10 pages must include a profile and resume, statement of interest, initial concept and drawings, budget, up to five annotated work samples, and at least three professional references.
