Description
The City of Port Arthur is soliciting proposals for armed security guard services at City Hall and the City Hall Annex. The contractor must provide two guards during regular weekday hours, with one stationed in each facility's lobby, and may need to provide additional coverage for evening or special council meetings. Duties include safeguarding facilities and equipment, controlling access, maintaining orderly lines, completing security logs and timesheets, and contacting law enforcement during emergencies. Guards must be at least 18 years old, meet specified education or experience requirements, communicate effectively in English, possess valid Texas driver's licenses, be properly registered under Texas security-services requirements, remain armed while on duty, and wear contractor-supplied uniforms. The contract is expected to run for approximately one year from execution, with two additional one-year renewal options. Proposals must address experience, references, and pricing, and include the required bid forms, affidavits, certifications, and appendices.
