The National Park Service (NPS) is soliciting proposals to lease three historic properties located within Cape Cod National Seashore in Massachusetts. The properties include the Sirna Studio, a mid-century modern artist's studio in Wellfleet; the Ahearn House, a 19th-century Cape Cod house also in Wellfleet; and the Jedidiah Higgins House, a 19th-century full Cape house in Truro. Each property requires significant initial improvements, and the lessee will be responsible for all repairs, maintenance, and compliance with historic preservation standards. Allowed uses include private residence, residential rental, or short-term rental. The lease term is anticipated to be 10 to 20 years, with rent based on fair market value and potential offsets for approved improvements. Proposals must be submitted electronically by November 1, 2026, and must address six evaluation criteria including proposed use, improvements, financial capability, experience, environmental enhancement, and financial terms.
