Description
The City of Bellingham is soliciting qualifications from consulting firms for preliminary engineering design services for the Downtown Signalized Intersection Accessibility and Safety Improvements Project. This federally funded project aims to improve signals and related infrastructure at three downtown intersections: Railroad Ave. with Magnolia St., Holly St., and Chestnut St. The scope of work includes signal reconstruction, installation of curb extensions, ADA improvements, and related utility modifications. Consultants will also be responsible for collecting survey data, assessing permitting needs, performing environmental reporting, and preparing complete bid documents including construction plans, technical specifications, and engineer's estimates. The agreement is for approximately seven months, with options for extension. The city also reserves the right to retain the selected firm for subsequent phases such as right-of-way, construction, and construction management.
