PUBLIC NOTICE - - - Audubon Nature Institute (Audubon), on behalf of the Audubon Commission, an independent agency of the City of New Orleans, is soliciting proposals to provide comprehensive water quality management services for the Cool Zoo Waterpark located within Audubon Zoo at 6500 Magazine Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70118. The selected contractor will be responsible for providing water quality testing and monitoring, pool chemicals, equipment, and lifeguard services necessary to support the safe and efficient operation of the facility. The Cool Zoo Waterpark encompasses approximately 60,000 square feet and includes multiple aquatic attractions, including a lazy river containing approximately 168,000 gallons of water. The scope of services shall include water quality management for all aquatic features, including the Cool Zoo 1 (CZ1) water system. Interested parties are invited to secure a qualification package at www.bidnetdirect.com/louisiana/audubonnatureinstitute. Prospective companies are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit on September 10, 2026, at 10 am, located at Audubon Zoo Cool Zoo Waterpark, 6500 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70118. Proposals must be submitted at or before October 22, 2026, at 10 am. Proposals shall be submitted in sealed envelopes marked Audubon Cool Zoo Water Quality & Lifeguard Services. Description
Audubon Nature Institute, on behalf of the independent Audubon Commission, is soliciting proposals for comprehensive water quality management and lifeguard services at Cool Zoo Waterpark within Audubon Zoo. The scope includes pool, lazy river, sprayground, deck, and related mechanical-system maintenance; water testing; chemical treatment; vacuuming and brushing; equipment cleaning and backwashing; equipment maintenance and installation; safety and emergency procedures; customer service; reporting; staffing; training; and compliance with applicable health and safety standards. The contractor must purchase and deliver specified quantities of sodium hypochlorite and sulfuric acid and provide qualified personnel, permits, licenses, uniforms, first-aid supplies, pool chemicals, minor repair parts, and other operating items. Addendum 001 requires a designated pool operator with a current Certified Pool Operator, Aquatic Facility Operator, or equivalent nationally recognized certification. Lifeguards must hold current nationally recognized certifications covering lifeguarding, water rescue, CPR/AED, and first aid, as applicable. Proposals must include a staffing plan for the lazy river, an aquatic safety management program with an emergency action plan, supervision and training procedures, staffing and surveillance plan, incident reporting procedures, certification documentation, comparable-facility references, and proof of insurance appropriate for aquatic operations, in addition to implementation, experience, financial, pricing, and supplier-diversity information.
