Description
The project involves Safe Routes to School improvements at Miami Northwestern Senior High School. Work includes furnishing supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools, permits, and incidentals for traffic control devices; school speed-zone signs and flashing beacon assemblies; crosswalk signage; pavement markings; sidewalks; curb and gutter; ADA-compliant pedestrian curb ramps; pedestrian signal indications and push-button detection at signalized intersections; electrical service and control assemblies; and related roadway safety improvements. The solicitation is a single-trade construction contract awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The estimated value is $653,720, with an anticipated start date of February 8, 2027 and 365 calendar days for completion. Bidders must hold an applicable electrical, general engineering, specialty engineering, or qualifying Florida Department of Transportation traffic-signal certification. The project is federally funded, subject to Davis-Bacon wage requirements, and requires bid, payment, and performance bonding, insurance, and documented experience on at least three similar projects.
