Kern County is soliciting bids for one new and unused, most-current-model-year 1-ton pickup truck with a crew cab, 8-foot bed, four-wheel drive, and single rear wheels. The vehicle must meet detailed specifications, including a minimum 6.6L V8 diesel engine, 10,000-pound GVWR, 15,000-pound conventional towing capacity, automatic 10-speed transmission, electronic-shift transfer case, heavy-duty cooling, on/off-road tires, factory air conditioning, Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay, power accessories, trailer equipment, safety-alert features, and other listed equipment. Equivalent vehicles may be proposed if they meet the functional requirements; examples include Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD, Ford F-350 Super Duty, and GMC Sierra 3500 HD crew-cab models. The bidder must complete and return the Kern County Quotation Request form, Vendor Information portion, pricing sheet, Comply/Exception Sheets, and every vehicle specification sheet, with a signature required on each specification sheet. The bid must state the make, model, model year, options, warranty, pricing, taxes, fees, delivery details, and any exceptions. In-stock vehicles require immediate delivery, while in-transit vehicles must be delivered within 60–120 days. The County may make a single or split award and may reject vehicles that fail its delivery inspection.
