Description
The City of Los Angeles Harbor Department is soliciting proposals from qualified food service companies to operate the Port Pantry Cafe at the Harbor Administration Building. The operator will manage daily breakfast, lunch, snack, beverage, and hot-food service; provide staffing, food procurement, point-of-sale equipment, supplies, cleaning, sanitation, licenses, permits, uniforms, and ongoing facility operations. The cafe is approximately 3,300 square feet and can accommodate up to 85 people. The operator must maintain an A rating from the Los Angeles County Health Department, provide at least one Serve Safe-certified staff member on duty at all times, comply with applicable safety, living-wage, environmental, and zero-waste requirements, and provide healthy and vegetarian options. The scope also includes non-exclusive catering for meetings and events, at least nine vending machines across Harbor Department facilities, and coffee-making equipment and services at various locations. Proposals must address firm qualifications and references, marketing, compensation and detailed menus and pricing, management and operations, staffing, financial capability, and service plans for the cafe, catering, vending, and coffee programs. The anticipated agreement duration is three years from execution, subject to approval by the Board of Harbor Commissioners.
