Description
The Town of Hilton Head Island is soliciting proposals from qualified, properly licensed contractors to perform comprehensive improvements at the Fire Rescue Headquarters. The scope includes repairing stucco, stairwell railings, exterior fire-suppression piping, structural steel supports, wall nail pops, window and door sealants, window frames, ceiling finishes, restroom tile grout, exterior exit lighting, and restroom exhaust fans; furnishing and installing a domestic-water water-softener system; and power-washing the building exterior. The plans include a wood enclosure associated with a generator package, while the generator, fuel tank, automatic transfer switch, wiring, pathways, and pad are excluded from this contract. The contractor must furnish labor, materials, equipment, supervision, debris removal, traffic control, safety measures, and related services. The proposal must include company experience and qualifications, three similar completed projects from the past five years, key personnel information, at least three client references, a preliminary construction master schedule in MS Project or Primavera, and pricing on the provided form. The solicitation includes conditional bid surety requirements for proposals exceeding $100,000, insurance requirements, South Carolina contractor licensing, and small- and minority-business good-faith-effort documentation where applicable. The tentative substantial-completion timeline is April 2027, but the binding completion date will be established in the Notice to Proceed.
