Description
The U.S. Army is conducting a Request for Information regarding a potential acquisition of up to nine high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP)-hardened medium fixed satellite communications earth terminals. The anticipated terminals would operate in X band with selective polarization and support production, installation, and sustainment activities. The Government would perform installation with technical support from the supplier. Respondents are asked to submit a white paper describing their company, business type, facility security clearance, technical expertise, current HEMP-hardened SATCOM terminal capabilities, WGS constellation certification status, compliance considerations for MIL-STD 188-164C with Change 2 and Revision A of MIL-STD 188-125A, and relevant product literature. The white paper is limited to 10 pages for the technical-expertise discussion, with brochures, photographs, illustrations, and technical descriptions permitted as supporting material. This is an RFI for market research and planning only, not a request for proposals or a commitment to procure.
