Description
The Bureau of Information Technology of the U.S. Virgin Islands is soliciting proposals for an “overlay” satellite network that leverages the existing land mobile radio system and seamlessly switches users to cellular data networks and, when cellular service is unavailable, to a satellite network. The scope includes architectural and engineering design and specifications; surveys, site drawings, photographs, and coordinates for installation sites; installation methods and power-hookup planning; memoranda of understanding for each entity hosting an installation; and environmental and historic-preservation approvals for each site and installation method. A mandatory site-visit requirement is referenced in the attached scope-of-work materials. The solicitation identifies one each of the requested system and related services.
