Description
The 97th Contracting Squadron requires complete replacement of a failed 8.3L L6 Cummins ISC diesel engine in a government-owned 2009 Blue Bird bus. The bus supports flightline aircrew transportation, off-base logistical missions, and military Commercial Driver's License training, and is currently inoperable following catastrophic internal engine failure. This is a notice of intent to make a sole-source, firm-fixed-price award to Rush Truck Centers of Texas, LP. Interested sources may submit a capability statement with technical data and cost information demonstrating their ability to perform the engine replacement. The government states that the vehicle is already at the proposed vendor's facility with diagnostics completed, and that alternative repair arrangements would create towing, duplicate diagnostic, tooling, and operational-delay costs.
