Description
Spartanburg School District 7 is soliciting sealed bids from qualified and experienced contractors to remove the existing synthetic turf system and install approximately 89,845 square feet of a complete, new non-infill synthetic turf system at McCracken Middle School. The work includes removal, loading, hauling, recycling or legal disposal of existing turf and infill; inspection and preparation of the existing field base; protection of drainage components; installation of turf, seaming materials, adhesives, field markings, graphics, and related components; cleanup; and restoration of adjacent areas. The proposed system must be suitable for football, soccer, physical education, and multipurpose athletic use; use high-density, multi-fiber construction; require no loose performance infill; include or reuse the existing shock pad as specified; provide a minimum 12-year non-prorated manufacturer's warranty; and be installed by an installer authorized by the turf-system manufacturer. Bidders must submit at least three similar project references completed within the past five years, a completed bid schedule, a proposed project schedule, required certifications and forms, proof of insurance, and a business license. Amendment 1 requires solicitation security equal to at least 5% of the total bid amount, provided as a certified cashier's check or bid bond. The successful bidder must furnish 100% performance and payment bonds when applicable under the District's construction procurement requirements. The District's target is substantial completion and field availability for athletic use by January 4, 2027.
