Description
The Town of Litchfield is soliciting bids from a licensed fire-apparatus repair shop to refurbish Litchfield Fire Company Engine 2. The work includes removing and reinstalling the body and tank; removing rust from the chassis frame and repainting it and corroded brake air tanks with corrosion-resistant paint; replacing brake air tanks; replacing scene lights with Fire Research Spectra 240VAC 20 K LED heads or comparable lamps; installing a complete backup-camera system with a 5-inch LCD monitor and Sony Night Vision Camera; installing and programming an On-Spot chain system; wiring cab-side scene lights to activate when the corresponding doors open; fabricating and installing aluminum hose wells in both side running boards; replacing headlights with heated JW Speaker LED headlights; and supplying and installing one 10-foot folding Duo Safety attic ladder. The contract is for work beginning October 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, with the project to be completed within 60 business days from the agreed-upon start date. The solicitation requires a mandatory vehicle inspection, a lump-sum bid, and submission of the bid schedule, non-collusion affidavit, nondiscrimination certification, hold-harmless agreement, and supplemental agreement. A bid bond, certified check, performance bond, and certified check in lieu of a performance bond are expressly not required. Insurance certificates, specified safety and training records, safety data sheets, and permits are required before acceptance, commencement, or performance as applicable.
