Description
The City of Quincy is soliciting sealed bids for the Quincy Regional Airport Sewage Lagoon Bird Mitigation project. The work consists of removing and disposing of the existing netting and conflicting anchoring components, clearing debris and vegetation around the lagoon perimeter, and furnishing and installing a new bird-control netting system over the southern sewage lagoon. The netting system must cover approximately 4,010 square yards, use a maximum 2-inch square opening, and include galvanized or stainless-steel hardware and 1/2-inch galvanized extra-high-strength support cables. The installed netting must prevent waterfowl from landing on the water and maintain at least 36 inches of sag clearance above normal water elevation. The contractor must provide labor, materials, supervision, manufacturer product information, installation instructions, samples, warranty information, and proof of certified installation capability. The work is paid on a lump-sum basis and must be completed within 40 working days. Airport-specific requirements include approved safety and security plans, access controls, airfield safety procedures, wildlife and foreign-object-debris management, and compliance with applicable FAA, airport, OSHA, prevailing-wage, insurance, bonding, and construction-safety requirements.
