Description
The University of Alaska Southeast is seeking a contractor for water distribution system improvements at its Juneau campus. The base bid and additive alternate include rehabilitation of existing ductile-iron water mains using HDPE slip lining, along with new water mains, valves, fire hydrants, service connections, and related utility work. The project manual describes approximately 700 feet of 16-inch main slip-lined with 12-inch HDPE in the base bid and approximately 1,250 feet in Additive Alternate 1; the overall project description identifies approximately 2,560 linear feet of main rehabilitation. The work also includes temporary potable water service to maintain campus operations, excavation and access pits, reconnection of building services and hydrants, testing, flushing and disinfection, traffic and pedestrian controls, and restoration of pavement, sidewalks, landscaping, and other disturbed areas. Bids must include the required bid security and be submitted electronically through the specified bidding portal. The apparent low bidder must provide required performance and payment bonds and insurance after notice of intent to award.
