The United States Air Force, through the Air Force Sustainment Center at Robins Air Force Base, is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the depot-level remanufacturing of the C-5 Main Landing Gear (MLG) Trunnion Bearing Assembly. The bearing, NSN 3120-00-766-2056UC, part number 4F23832-103A, is a large, plain self-aligning spherical bearing that serves as the main pivot bearing during retraction and extension of the C-5 MLG. The contractor shall provide all resources needed to inspect, functionally test, and remanufacture the bearings, including installing new balls (no reworked balls allowed) and reassembling into serviceable housings. The contract is a requirements-type contract with a five-year period of performance consisting of a one-year base period and four one-year ordering periods. The best estimated quantity is 64 units per period. Offerors must be on the government's pre-approved qualified source list or submit a complete Source Approval Request (SAR) package. The acquisition will be full and open competition, awarded on a lowest price technically acceptable basis. The government owns the technical data package, and interested parties must be registered in the Joint Certification Program (JCP) and approved for export control to obtain the data. Proposals are due October 27, 2026.
